Do and/or Know the Following
- When traveling Internationally, make copies of your passports. Leave a copy at home with a friend or relative and give the second one to a traveling companion.
- If you lose your passport while on a trip this will make it easier to replace.
- Make copies of any credit cards you are taking with you, leave a copy with someone you trust back home.
- If your wallet or purse get stolen while on a trip you will want to call your credit card companies ASAP to stop any fraud from happening.
- Know the 311 rule if you are flying anywhere.
- You are allowed to bring a quart-sized bag of liquids, aerosols, gels, creams and pastes in your carry-on bag and through the checkpoint. These are limited to travel-sized containers that are 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) or less per item. Placing these items in the small bag and separating from your carry-on baggage facilitates the screening process. Pack items that are in containers larger than 3.4 ounces or 100 milliliters in checked baggage.
