Before You Go

Do and/or Know the Following

  1. When traveling Internationally, make copies of your passports. Leave a copy at home with a friend or relative and give the second one to a traveling companion.
    1. If you lose your passport while on a trip this will make it easier to replace.
  2. Make copies of any credit cards you are taking with you, leave a copy with someone you trust back home.
    1. If your wallet or purse get stolen while on a trip you will want to call your credit card companies ASAP to stop any fraud from happening.
  3. Know the 311 rule if you are flying anywhere.
    1. You are allowed to bring a quart-sized bag of liquids, aerosols, gels, creams and pastes in your carry-on bag and through the checkpoint. These are limited to travel-sized containers that are 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) or less per item. Placing these items in the small bag and separating from your carry-on baggage facilitates the screening process. Pack items that are in containers larger than 3.4 ounces or 100 milliliters in checked baggage.
